Plumbing Certificate of Compliance in East London
A PIRB certificate that plumbing work — water supply, drainage and hot water, including geysers — complies with the national standards SANS 10252 and SANS 10254. Only a PIRB Licensed or Master plumber can issue one.
When you need one
- After new plumbing work, including every geyser installation or replacement.
- When your insurer asks for one after a geyser or plumbing claim.
- When you sell a property, if the sale agreement asks for one.
Who may issue it
Only PIRB Licensed Plumbers and Master Plumbers may issue a PIRB Certificate of Compliance. A plumber whose PIRB registration has lapsed may not. Every plumber listed below was Active and Licensed or Master on the PIRB register when we last read it.
Authority: Plumbing Industry Registration Board (PIRB) · check on the PIRB register
What to ask for
- Their PIRB registration number, and check it is current on the PIRB site.
- For a sale: that the certificate is the one your transfer attorney or municipality asks for.
- The original certificate once the work is signed off.
